The Descriptive List should also be sent to this Office in cases where the soldier was absent from his Comapny at the time of his death. Where there were no effects, it should be so stated on a blank Inventory, properly signed. Certificates of Disability should be sent in duplicate. Special care should be taken that the date of discharge and signature of the discharging office should be affixed. Vii of the Final Statement Vii Inventory, has been received in the case of Richard Oliver, of Co. ["?"] 20[it?] Regiment of U.S.C. [?] Volunteers, whose papers were forwarded to this Office.
