within and for said County [illegible] personally appeared [illegible] who being by we duly sworn deposes and says that he was Captain [illegible] Co. K 20th [Regiment?] [illegible] during the late war that he well knew Richard Oliver. Who [was a?] Private in Co. K of the 20th Regiment of U.S.C. troops.
That ^while in the service and in the line ofhw duty as a soldier on board of [Steamship Northern Light was?] on his way from New Orleans to New York City, K [began?] Discharge & he died of [illegible] fever contracted while in the said service.
Deponent [feer?tu?] swears that he is not interested in any claim of any heirs of said deceased soldier for County back pay or Pension.
