On this 25th day of [1868?] before we: a Notary Public

within and for said County personally appeared who being by we duly sworn deposes and says that he was Captain [illegible] too. K 20th [illegible] during the late war that he well knew Richard Oliver. Who was a Private in Co. K of the 20th Regiment of [U.S.C.?] troops.

That ^while in the service and in the line [of???] duty as a soldieron board of on his way from New Orleans to New York City, K [began?] Discharged he died of fever contracted while in the said service.

Deponent [feerat?er] swears that he is not interested in any claim of any heirs of said deceased soldier for County back pay or Pension.
