Dear Sir

I have received no information from you yet respecting fencing your land and I have been informed since I wrote to you that Mr. H (?) Root was to make some fence for the last years rent and I have asked him about it, and he denies it. I therefore wish you if that was the case to write to me concerning the bargain and give me power of Attorney to collect the money of him for I am of opinion that he calculates to have this place for the Genesee Country (?) soon and may make it difficult collecting of him. Old Norton remains still on the place and says he will not go off untill [sic] ejected, you will therefore send advise respecting him. I find no opportunity yet to sell the land. I have had some to look at it, but they think too clear, I think I shall rent it this year and get as much as I can for it and take it in fencing and have it made as soon as possible
